It's a UNESCO World Heritage site celebrated for its historical sites (Sacsayhuaman, Qorikancha), beautiful churches (Cusco Cathedral), artisan neighborhoods (San Blas), Andean textiles, and delicious traditional cuisine.
The city features a unique architectural blend, with Spanish colonial buildings, baroque churches, and mansions built directly on top of impressive, earthquake-resistant Inca stone foundations and walls. The Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), with the Santo Domingo Convent built over it, is a prime example of this historical layering.

What I like about it:
Delicious food and coffee, the pulled pork sandwich was out of this world. The bread was so delicious. Excellent staff, lovely restaurant, I really enjoyed this place!
Cercanía Pan y Café
This cafe specilizes in the labor of love to all its menu options and creates a relaxing village experience.

What I like about it:
Feels and tastes like San Francisco, with an old incan wall for a view and the cobblestone road added to the cultural experience. The pear carmelized tart was devine and having met someone on my trip to share it with was even better!
La Esencia
Their mates are the house specialty, with special names and medicinal properties. There's a show almost every night.

What I like about it:
The shows, everything has always been impeccable. A very nice place where you can enjoy good food while enjoying a show! Enjoying a delicious menu item while enjoying a cultural activity is priceless.
